Our team of talented people are dedicated to our shared mission: to provide solutions that help people design and build safer, stronger structures.Learn about our company culture directly from our team.YOUAs a Product Engineer supporting Composite Strengthening Systems, you will support the development, implementation, and testing of products in our Composite Strengthening product line, which includes Fiber- Reinforced Polymer FRP strengthening, Fabric-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) strengthening, repair mortars, crack injection epoxies, etc. You will recommend alterations and enhancements to improve the quality of products and procedures. You will work closely with our testing lab team to provide testing and assessment of research and development projects. You will manage internal and external FRP & FRCM structural strengthening testing projects. You will work with our marketing team to help develop technical content for published literature and provide support to our regional branches.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)Manage FRP & FRCM strengthening product performance test programs for product support, code evaluations, and certifications. (40%)Develop FRP & FRCM strengthening and restoration/protection products for the building industry. (30%)Work with Marketing to develop product technical literature. (15%)Provide technical and application support for products. (10%)Provide internal support and training as well as evaluation of processes and procedures in pursuit of continual improvement. (5%)DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEIf you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required.
  • A licensed civil or structural engineer (P.E. or S.E.) is preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in structural design, including reinforced concrete and masonry structures is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Practical knowledge of standard concrete and masonry construction methods and building codes. Familiarity with Simpson Strong-Tie products is a plus.
  • Reading Comprehension/ Speaking/Writing: Ability to read and interpret documents such as architectural and structural plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Reasoning: Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to motivate and work with team members. Connect, interface, and communicate well with various internal sales, marketing, IT, quality, production, and engineering partners.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills are needed, as clear communication is required to effectively deliver projects to customers and direct and train staff engineers.
