stubborn corners of the flight envelope. The Facility Maintenance
Technician performs a diverse range of skilled maintenance and
construction activities pertaining to buildings and grounds. This
professional is proficient in executing tasks with a high degree of
expertise and is capable of working autonomously or collaboratively
with other Facility personnel. The Technician is instrumental in
undertaking preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance
assignments, thereby contributing to the seamless operation and
optimal functioning of the facility. Duties and Responsibilities
may include, but not limited to: Troubleshooting and repairing
failures of production and facilities equipment Ensuring maximum
equipment efficiency and effectiveness Responsible for the upkeep
of buildings and perform related work as required Performing the
upkeep of buildings and equipment Ensuring safety standards are
used in compliance with all company, local, city, state and federal
guidelines Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to identify and fix
electrical issues Knowledge of HVAC systems and their maintenance
Proficiency in repairing and maintaining plumbing systems Excellent
verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and
interpret documents, drawings, and write detailed reports Knowledge
of common tools, materials, equipment and methods used in
carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, painting and masonry
trades Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software,
and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance
software to input data and research parts Willingness to learn and
apply new methods of building maintenance and repair Excellent
organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical
and problem-solving skills. Proven safety record with the ability
to identify safety issues and take corrective action Ability to
effectively manage time by appropriately prioritizing work
Willingness to work cooperatively with others to accomplish work
goals and tasks Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative
working relations with employees and customers Education and
Experience: Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a variety of
commercial building maintenance, including but not limited to
experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic plumbing
and electrical repairs Post-secondary education and/or technical
trade certificate Essential Job Functions: Occasional lifting 50
lbs. Must have sufficient agility to work in the interior of an
aircraft structure. Will need to bend, stoop, squat, and/or kneel
to occasionally work in cramped, tiring, and uncomfortable
positions. Ability to work overhead for prolonged periods of time
including lifting up to 10-15 pounds. Standing 95% of the day,
sometimes 8.5 – 12 hours per day. Required to wear appropriate
Personal Protective Equipment for an assigned task. Work with
composite materials such as epoxy resin systems, fiberglass, carbon
fiber, and foam/core products. Will also work closely with
chemicals, such as acetone and alcohol. May be exposed to dirt,
oil, fuel, grease, and hydraulic fluids. Able to adapt to altered
schedules. Occasional pushing/pulling of heavy tools and tables
(75-100 lbs., with assistance). Manual dexterity to handle small
parts, and tools and to manipulate composite material to various
shapes using pressure. Repetitive hand and arm motions including,
but not limited to, trimming, sanding, and/or grinding of
materials. Occasional sitting computer work Vision at close
distances and ability to adjust focus. Ability to operate a
forklift and/or other heavy machinery including occasional driving
of company-owned vehicles. Must be able to pass and maintain ‘pass’
status on OSHA-approved Pulmonary Fitness Test (PFT) in order to
wear a respirator for prolonged periods of time. Work on varied
work surfaces/environments, including but not limited to working in
a busy shop environment, cold room, or in/on aircraft structures
including raised platforms including but not limited to ladders,
scaffolding, and stairs. Work may be performed inside or outside of
buildings. May be exposed to changing weather conditions. Must be
able to read and understand SDS.
