Kleinfelder has an opening for a Project Geotechnical Engineer in
Riverside, California. The right candidate for this opportunity
will be growth minded and have 6 to 10 years of related
geotechnical engineering experience. In this position you will
support the Project Manager in execution of field investigation and
construction projects, including meeting and interacting with the
client, and managing budgets. The Project Engineer will lead and
coordinate the field investigation, review and assign lab testing
program, perform technical analysis, report/proposal writing,
networking to successfully deliver projects. You will be a part of

The responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to
- Assist the project manager in execution of a variety of
projects from initial planning, scope and proposal development
through project execution and close out.
- Lead and help manage project teams and mentor junior staff
while reflecting Kleinfelder's core values of safety, teamwork,
accountability, integrity, and respect.
- Lead, implement and manage geotechnical field investigations,
coordinate and participate in field activities including
supervision of drill rigs, logging of borings and test
- Construction monitoring and supervision of grading, earthwork
and foundation installation, technical support to staff-level
engineers, geologists and field technicians.
- Guide and perform engineering analyses in multiple areas
including soil/rock classification, ground motion characterization,
seismic and geologic hazard evaluation, slope stability, earth
retention-systems, seepage, shallow and pile foundation design,
settlement, ground improvement.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings and

management, attend meetings and interact with clients, and general
project management tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in
Geotechnical Engineering. Master's degree in Civil Engineering with
an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of six years' experience in geotechnical engineering
practice and one year of related task management
- State of California Civil Engineer License or ability to obtain
within 12 months.
- Knowledge of standard software such as: Excel, Word, gINT,
GEOSTUDIO Suite (including SLOPE/W and SEEP/W), Slide, SHAFT,
APILE, LPILE, and SHAKE.
