We are actively recruiting and looking for someone who can lead our accounting department. We'd like them to have at least 5 years experience accounting in an e-comm/retail environment, bachelor's degree, and 3 years supervisory experience

Job Summary

This successful candidate will thrive in a multitasking environment working closely with the Controller and will be responsible for supervising all aspects of accounting and finance. S/he will have direct responsibility for the management and supervision of the Accounts Payable and Accounting staff.

Job Description

• Lead, manage, motivate, and work alongside the accounting and accounts payable staff
• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all accounting and AP related functions
• Responsible for full accounting cycle
• Manage vendor relations as a second layer of support to the Accounts Payable Associate
• Ensure a timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in collaboration with the Controller
• Execute transactional level work such as vendor wires, bank recs, check batch management, employee reimbursements, company credit cards, etc
• Prepare daily credit card sales reconciliations in accordance with merchant accounts and credit card processing integrations
• Manage the weekly cash flow as it relates to AP batches, timing of credit card payments, payroll and other cash related activities
• Ensure the accurate flow of information between various modules and integrations in D365 software
• Maintain all balance sheet accounts with accurate and timely supporting ledgers in collaboration with the Controller
• Prepare internal financial statements to include breakout of various locations and departments
• Assist with ad hoc reporting
• Assist and/or lead various external audits and prepare assigned schedules for the annual audits
• Diagnose, solve or correct complex operational and accounting challenges
• Lead various special projects
  
  Requirements
  
  • CPA license preferred
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and ERP system skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
