The Kansas City Current ("Current") is a professional women's soccer team based in Kansas City. Competing in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the Current has the mission of being the best women's soccer club in the world. On our path to that goal, in less than two years, the team has already made considerable news having unveiled a state of the art $18 million training facility and new headquarters; shared plans to build the first purpose-built sports $120 million stadium for women on the riverfront and hired some of the brightest front office and technical staff across all of sports. Given the opportunity we see ahead, we are hiring for multiple key positions including this role, Director, Corporate Partnerships. Job Description:We are seeking an experienced revenue generator with a strong passion for sales and sports. The Director, Corporate Partnerships will be responsible for generating partnership revenue, as well as, generating leads through prospecting, cold-calling, face-to-face meeting, and relationship building. This position will assist the VP of Partnerships with overall new business strategy and execution related to partnership sales. The Director, Corporate Partnerships will work within the sales and activation team and report to the VP of Partnerships.For this season and 2023, the team will continue to play their home matches at Children's Mercy Park, home to Sporting KC of the MLS. In 2024, the team will play in their own stadium, a $120 million facility located on the Berkeley Riverfront near downtown Kansas City. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing key category development and platform ideation for new and existing partners
  • Responsible for cultivating new business on behalf of Corporate Partnerships team by developing proposals, generating leads, conducting presentations, and negotiating contracts
  • Ability to sell across all KC NWSL assets and inventory with focus on existing and emerging sponsorship assets
  • Generate new opportunities through direct delivery of sales presentations for the KC Current
  • Establish and build client relationships through prospecting and lead development projects, including networking activities outside of day-to-day appointments
  • Lead and/or assist the sales process from discovery, negotiations, and closing
  • Develop, customize sponsorship programs using inventory controlled by the organization to generate net revenue and meet the needs of clients
  • Maintain a network of prospective clients and agency contacts
  • Collaborate with other departments to build out sponsor programsRequired Skills/Abilities:

    • All new hires must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by date of hire, subject to legally mandated accommodations.Education and Experience:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or related field
      • Minimum of five to seven years of prior sports and/or entertainment industry sponsorship sales experience is required.
      • Experience or familiarity with tools such as Sponsor United, Zoom Info, LinkedIn, DigiDeck and Scarborough is a plus.Physical Requirements:
        • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
