Photography Manager Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201809203902 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $67,300 - $83,600 Position Information Working in the UC Riverside University Communications department, the photography manager is responsible for visually illustrating campus life by providing high-quality photography, editing photos for internal and external use, and archiving and managing of the UC Riverside photo library, which is used by University Communications and its campus partners. This position reports to the creative director and will work closely with members of the University Communications team to ensure that quality photography and visual communication is available to support UC Riverside's marketing, content development, media relations, publications, social media, and internal communications. Portfolio review required for all candidates who interview for the position. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Experience Experience Requirement Minimum of 8 years of related experience. Required 5 years of relevant photography experience. Required Minimum Requirements Advanced interpersonal communications skills, including active listening skills and skills to work effectively within teams and to effectively provide advanced design advice and consultation to clients on all aspects of visual communications. Experience and proficiency across a variety of photographic styles, including portrait, event, news, and environmental photography. Strong photo editing skills and knowledge of Photoshop and/or other editing software. Organization and technical skills needed to manage photo library. A keen eye for detail and a well-developed artistic and creative aesthetic. Preferred Qualifications Advanced design, creative and artistic skills. Advanced knowledge of the location, including its vision, mission, goals, and objectives. Critical thinking skills, advanced organizational skills and proactive problem-solving/problem resolution skills. Advanced knowledge and ability to create stunning and compelling graphics using the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and other equivalent graphic and web design software. Advanced knowledge with formatting graphics for print, electronic, mobile and social media platforms.Conceives, produces and prepares files, graphics, and/or illustrations for visual media, including html email, print and web design. Advanced knowledge of design and communications concepts and applicable software applications. Advanced knowledge of production processes for a variety of media and knowledge of vendor requirements for a variety of products. Advanced skills to devise broad design ideas, present them to clients, and produce results on time and within budget. Ability to lead and mentor others in the department. Experience with an enterprise-level photo library software such as WebDam, Merlin, etc. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience producing photography assets for social media platforms such as Instagram. Prior experience as an in-house photographer at a large organization.
