MANAGER OF SCHOOL AND VOLUNTEER DOCENT PROGRAMS

teachers/faculty, students, and volunteer docents* If so, then UCR
ARTS is looking for you! UCR ARTS seeks an energetic professional
to lead its School and Volunteer Docent Program during a time of
opportunity, growth and many exciting museum-wide projects. The
primary objective of the Manager of School and Volunteer Docent
Programs will be to provide meaningful, educational opportunities
that help young people and the public explore and learn together
during regular visitation, special programs, and public and private
tours. This is a new, hands-on position where you're not only
managing but also building and delivering creative programs to a
broad audience. This is not a 9a-5p job. The Manager of School and
Volunteer Docent Programs will need to have a flexible work
schedule that could regularly include evenings or weekends. The
Manager will manage the development, delivery and evaluation of
innovative programs for middle and high school students and
teachers, community college and university students, community
volunteers, and work in partnership with the Executive Director and
curatorial staff to raise the profile and reputation of UCR ARTS in
the region and beyond. The Manager will cultivate strategic
partnerships with educational and non-profit communities and build
a state-wide network of educators to increase our visibility and
school tour frequency. The Manager interfaces with multiple
departments to maintain a strong connection between student
workers, volunteer docents and school tours and will be a valued
part of a team, working collaboratively to build positive
relationships with our school partners. S/he will envision and
implement an array of exciting experiences for young people and
visitors that make UCR ARTS a safe, welcoming, and inspiring
destination. UCR ARTS is composed of the California Museum of
Photography and the Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts. We
are located on a single block in adjacent historical buildings in
downtown Riverside, easily accessible to the public as well as the

starting salary for this position will be $55,000 plus benefits. A
Master's Degree in Education, Museum Studies, or Art History is
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent
Masters in Education, Museum Studies or Art History Strongly
Continuing education in related field.
4 - 7 years of related experience.
Excellent written communication skills for publication. Excellent
Customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong planning,
organizational and problem-solving skills. Detail oriented.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
Knowledge of contemporary educational methods and philosophies,
especially for informal learning environments.
Minimum of 2 years experience working with teachers and schools
managing, designing and implementing education programs, preferably
in a museum setting.
Excellent verbal skills including the ability to speak in front of
groups and represent UCR ARTS professionally.
Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal
communication skills and presentation skills.
Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop
recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving
Thorough knowledge of current public educational programs and
Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management
courses at the university or corporate level.
Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new
presentations/courses to meet organizational needs.
Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs.
Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work
may impact other areas.
Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work
assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures.
