Provides skilled perioperative nursing care to patients according
to their individual needs and supervises associated personnel in
related activities. Assists with surgical procedures in the scrub
and circulating roles and supervises non-professional personnel in
these areas. Assists in maintaining a safe aseptic environment.
Able to carry out the functions that will assist the surgeon in
performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient
under the direction or supervision of the surgeon.
Reports to: Director of Perioperative Services
Two-years operating room experience.
Current and valid license California RN License.
Current CNOR Certification
Current BCLS Certification
Current ACLS Certification
AA Degree Minimum
Graduated of an accredited RNFA Program with completion of
precepted clinical portion
Knowledge of aseptic technique
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
Ability to assess developmental needs of patients from infancy to
the elderly and to modify care appropriately.
Must be able to interpret pertinent findings and adapt to the OR
