JOB CODE: (341119) Lab/Director of Laboratory (CLS) LOCATION: Riverside County (CA) Acute care hospital facility is seeking a candidate with hospital/acute care Laboratory Director experience to join their team in a 100+ bed acute care hospital that features the largest Womens Center (Awarded the Blue Distinction for Outstanding Maternity Care) in the region. It is the only hospital in Riverside County to offer pediatric ER Services from Rady Emergency Physicians for children 14 years and younger, an Advanced Certified Primary Stroke Center, and the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System performing the regions first virtually no-scar single site procedures. The hospital was recently awarded an A Grade from the Leapfrog Group as having the highest level of patient safety as well as the Top General Hospital Award from Leapfrog (one of only 35 hospitals to earn this distinction nationwide). In addition, the hospital was also awarded the Blue Distinction for outstanding bariatric surgical services. The Director of Laboratory is responsible for the overall management of the assigned laboratory department in an efficient, economic and quality manner. Supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of staff performing various chemical, hematological, microscopic and bacteriological tests of body fluids, exudates, and skin scrapings to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease and procedures Essential Job Duties: Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines. Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications. Maintains a high level of technical knowledge demonstrating expert knowledge of lab tests and their clinical significance.
