Shift Start Time: Variable
Shift End Time: Variable
Additional Shift Information: Variable 8-hr shift; start time
between 7-8am
Weekend Requirements: No Weekends

What You Will Do
Directs or coordinates all orientation of clinical support staff to
facilitate provision of high quality care and effective physician
support. Interfaces with all aspects of training. Develops and
implements programs to meet education requirements and needs for
Sharp Rees- Stealy. Maintains Nursing Policy and Procedure manual,
oversees clinical affiliation activities and assists Infection
Control Liaison as needed. Assists Director by representing the
department on committees and task forces and serves as consultant
in absence of director.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
5 Years RN experience
Experience in developing and implementing orientation and training
programs.
California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing
-REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Nursing
5 Years Experience in ambulatory care or education environment.
Experience in writing policies and procedures.
ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart
Association -PREFERRED
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
-PREFERRED
Essential Functions
Clinical resources and library management
Reviews literature for current pertinent articles and forwards to
management and staff as appropriate.
Maintain books for NLO, IV Therapy, Medical Terminology and other
classes.
Nursing policies and procedures
Routinely reviews all policies every three years for pertinence and
accuracy, and updates as needed.
Monitors all policies regularly to revise when policy or procedure
changes are made.
Writes and presents new or revised policies to Nursing Policy and
Procedure Committee for review and approval.
Orientation
Coordinates Urgent Care orientation for back office staff, updating
or revising as needed. Ensures testing of core competencies and
provides feedback to manager.
Teaches New Nursing Orientation when required.
Training and education
Coordinates annual competency evaluation with managers and
participates in data collection, evaluation, and revision.
Develops new competency as identified by managers/supervisors or as
required by regulations.
Coordinates training for roll-out of new products or policies.
Collaborates with Information Systems to develop training for new
programs.
Evaluates education programs for CEU's and collaborates with staff
development manager to assign them.
Develops classes on current topics and offers at various sites
throughout the system.
Performs yearly needs survey to determine topics for training.
Maintains education and training records.
