GENERAL MANAGER, MARKET AT GLEN MOR AND LOTHIAN RESIDENTIAL

UC Riverside's Housing, Dining, and Hospitality Services is
currently recruiting for the General Manager of the Market at Glen
Mor and Lothian Residential Restaurant. The General Manager will
plan, organize, manage, and direct the total day-to-day activities,
work schedules, customer service, and maintenance functions for
multi-concept retail and residential restaurant operations. The
General Manager also provides operational oversight and support to
the management team in The Market and Glen Mor and Lothian's
Residential Restaurant. The General Manager will participate in the
planning, development, preparation, and management of unit budgets
to ensure fiscal controls, as well as select, train, supervise, and
evaluate the performance of assigned staff. The General Manager
oversees ordering, receiving, storage, and issuing of all assigned
products, and will ensure food quality, assist in the development
of innovative menus, and ensure a high level of guest
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Must successfully obtain ServSafe certification with a minimum
score of 75 within six (6) months of appointment begin date.
8 - 13 years of related experience.
Experience with preparation and management of operational budgets,
related financial analysis, inventory analysis, inventory controls,
and labor analysis.
Experience working and managing in a unionized environment and
general knowledge of labor relations policies and principles.
Experience within a customer service oriented environment,
including responding to and meeting/exceeding the needs of
customers in a high volume, continuous public contact setting.
Experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating the work of
others to accomplish daily goals in multiple locations.
Demonstrated food service management experience in a University
and/or College environment and a knowledge of campus policies and
Supervisory experience, preferably in food service industry.
Experience in a supervisory role responsible for hiring, training,
evaluating, directing, disciplining, and complaint resolution, as
well as directing, organizing, and prioritizing personal workload
and the workload of others to meet required deadlines and
Successfully pass criminal background check.
Employment and/or continued employment is contingent on a
satisfactory Live Scan background check.
Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Drivers License in accordance
with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
Occasional travel for business related meetings, professional
development, and/or events.
Strong decision making and reasoning skills, and ability to develop
original ideas to solve problems, and conduct operations analysis
and quality control analysis.
Strong knowledge in food service and sanitation regulations.
Strong and effective interpersonal and work leadership skills to
provide guidance to all levels of personnel.
Intermediate computer application skills to include food service
applications for point of sale and inventory control software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English
language, including active listening, dynamic flexibility, and
critical thinking, and ability to multi-task and ensure effective
Skill in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole
numbers, fractions, and decimals, computing ratios, rates and
Skill in creating spreadsheets and reports using Word, Excel, or
other software applications.
Knowledge of food trends, creation of menus, and creation of
