This role blends hands-on test development, system-level problem-solving, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of Illumina's next generation of flagship sequencing platforms. • Develop and maintain software solutions for our flagship instrument sequencing platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows.
• Develop and implement test automation frameworks and scripts to verify software functionality, ensure quality, and reduce regression risks
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, scientists, test engineers, and other stakeholders to design and optimize hardware ecosystem workflows
• Design and implement data analysis pipelines
• Maintain rigorous quality standards
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Develop software that solves the problem at hand with an eye toward flexibility and maintainabilityListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position.   • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3+years of professional software development experience
  • Demonstrated coding experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, Python, or C++ (C# preferred)
  • Passion and aptitude for problem solving, data analysis, and mastering new domains
  • Strong communicator with a willingness to both learn and teach othersAll listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.The estimated base salary range for the Software Engineer 2 role based in the United States of America is: $105,600 - $158,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
