We celebrate diversity by our commitment to cultivating an inclusive and affirming environment for all.The Position: -The purpose of this position is to provide active, hands-on peer support to parents/caregivers of youth receiving Educationally Related Mental Health Services. Effective peer support should be friendly, helpful, accessible and flexible. Peer support may be delivered in individual or group settings at the agency, school, in family homes or in community environments. The role of the Parent Partner is to provide peer support but also to work collaboratively to support systems change by increasing family involvement and decreasing unintentional bias about parents. -This position will serve the desert region: Beaumont to Palm SpringsCompensation and Benefits:The pay range we're offering is $19.50 - $24.00 Hourly -depending -(Based) -on experience.Our people are the heart of our organization, which is why we offer robust benefits to support your health and wellness as well as your personal and financial well-being.

    • Current or previous experience as a consumer of mental health services or as a family member/caregiver of a former or current mental health consumer.
    • Parent Partner should have experienced level of care with their youth equivalent to the need
    • Flexible hours consistent with the needs/availability of the clients
    • High school diploma or GED preferred -
    • Maintains a non-judgmental attitude toward families
    • Maintains required licenses and certifications to perform role
    • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening -
    • Ability to commute to various sites
    • Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing
    • Ability to learn and use mental health software (EXYM).Key Responsibilities:Working with others: -
      • Collaborates with Lead Clinician and Rehab Specialist
      • Maintains appropriate boundariesAssessing Strengths and Needs: -
        • Gathers and summarizes information
        • Assists in identifying personal values, goals and priorities
        • Identifies strengths and resources
        • Identifies problems, deficits and stressors
        • Detects warning signs
        • Communicates results clearly
        • Reassesses routinely -Planning Services:
          • Identify recommended goals and services
          • Supports individual and family members decision making in developing plan of care
          • Assists individual in developing personal plansProviding Services:
            • Provide individualized, peer to peer support to parents
            • Attend and participate in all Child and Family Team Meetings
            • Attend and participate in all IEP Meetings (when appropriate)
            • Communicate on a regular basis with families, according to their identified needs
            • Develop plans/strategies with family to ensure their concerns are being heard and understood
            • Communicate information about the effectiveness of interventions/processes related to the Child and Family Team Plan or Plan of Care with the treatment team.Linking to Resources:
              • Identifies recommended resources
              • Supports individual and family decision-making in selecting resources
              • Connects individuals and families to community resourcesAdvocating:
                • Advocates on behalf of the individual and family
                • Supports self-advocacy
                • Assesses the influences of key individual, family and community characteristics
                • Tailors services to unique individual, family and community characteristics
                • In consultation with the treatment team, modifies plans and services based on individual and family experiences -Documenting:
                  • Completes required documentation in required timeframe and in accordance with all legal and qualitative standards
                  • Balances privacy with documentation requirementsBehaving Professionally and Ethically:
                    • Fulfills responsibilities and commitments
                    • Complies with laws, regulations, policies and ethical codes
