Description: Website development and Sharepoint. Strong experienced with HTML, CSS, Javascript, Drupal, API integration. SQL Server experience preferred. Class Concept Under direction, designs, develops, maintains, and supports intranet, internet and extranet content, layout, format and information flow; and performs other related duties as required. The IT Web Developer III is the lead level classification in the IT Web Developer series and reports to a supervisory or manager level position. Incumbents in this class exercise a high degree of independent judgment, may provide project oversight to subordinate staff, and perform the most complex assignments requiring extensive knowledge and proficiency. The IT Web Developer III is distinguished from the IT Web Developer II in that the latter is the journey level class in which incumbents perform the full range of duties requiring a greater technical knowledge with little supervision or guidance. This class is further distinguished from the IT Supervising Web Developer in that the latter exercises the full scope of supervision. Advancement to the next level is obtained by competitive selection through an open recruitment. Examples of Essential Duties --- Work with users in establishing/utilizing desktop interfaces and training; create front-end interfaces to databases; consult with clients' methods to increase public access/service availability via the Web. --- May provide oversight, mentor, and delegate work to subordinate staff. --- Run software maintenance to ensure links are complete; install and implement module; manage content of modules. --- Recommend and develop application solutions for difficult technical issues. --- Design and modify database tables and stored procedures; manage content of modules. --- Train customers on how to use new systems; develop content management systems. --- Design new or existing websites; create new web pages and graphics; archive expired websites; post daily updates to websites. --- Convert and edit documents; purge expired documents; maintain archive of historical departmental documents. --- Add categories and topics for user subscriptions; analyze website content, structure, design, graphics, and page layout; engage with vendors about website changes. --- Consult with department management to receive permission to publish information and content. --- Determine desired aesthetic look and feel of web pages to stimulate user interest; determine content and write/edit website text. --- Locate, design and use graphics, multi-media elements and links in web page design; map and maintain consistency in the flow of the site; evaluate use and usability of assigned sites. --- Maintain integrity of site information (i.e., updated data, relevant links). --- Develop quality and content standards based on industry standards, management preferences, and available resources. --- Research, evaluate and test proposed products, product versions and systems solutions. Recruiting Guidelines Education: Completion of 30 semester or 45 quarter units from an accredited college or university, preferably with coursework in computer science, computer information systems, data processing, information management, or a related field to the assignment. (Additional qualifying IT job-related experience may substitute for the required education on the basis of 30 semester or 45 quarter units equaling one year of full-time experience). Experience: Four years of successful journey level IT job-related experience , one year of which included either lead duties or technically advanced IT job-related work (One year as an IT Web Developer II will satisfy the one year of lead or technically advanced experience requirement). Knowledge of: The principles, methods, and techniques used in the course of work for the IT Web Developer series; principles and techniques applied to IT devices, applications, and systems; principles of organization and administration; principles of documentation and recordkeeping, storage and retrieval. Ability to: Gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations; resolve technical problems and innovate more efficient use of IT resources; perform systems analysis work and problem solving; interpret and follow written and oral instructions; prepare concise reports and documents; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, customers, other employees, and the public; communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels. Required IT-Related Skills: HTML at a fully functional level; web page design including concepts for informational and graphic content at a limited level; multiple web site development and maintenance. Preferred IT-Related Skills: C Family, Java, VBA at a limited level; scripting languages at a fully functional level; determining user needs and encouraging enterprise resource use; web page design including knowledge of concepts for informational and graphic content at a fully functional level; use of Web Administrative Tools/IIS 4.0+/Security/NT Server; web development tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator).
