Estimator - Telecommunication Construction

plant for the telecom, data, electrical, solar, and low voltage

WE ARE SEEKING:
An estimator to support multiple telecommunications projects
including construction for substructure utility installation.
Assist with client pricing for program changes. Assist with check
estimates / review subcontractor requested changes for all
disciplines. Member of multi project team running various projects
for several clients. Coordinate with home office estimators for
larger estimating efforts. Reports to Division President.
Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex
assignments. Use knowledge of general application of construction
and estimating principles, theories, concepts, and industry
practices and standards to perform moderately complex assignments
under general supervision.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Analyze specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of material,
and subcontractor quotations.
Coordinate with HCI design personnel to fully comprehend the nature
of changed conditions.
Assist with contractor negotiations as needed.
Prepare and maintain historical cost data.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
4 or more years of relevant experience with detailed estimating
knowledge is required.
Experience with large scale telecommunication industrial projects
highly preferred.
Advanced knowledge and expertise in excel is required.
Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis.
Ability to plan, organize, document, perform, review and present
multiple sub-projects with minimum supervision is required.
Communication skills including the ability to interact with all
levels of the project team is required.
Experience with specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of
material, and subcontractor quotations is required.
Person must be able to work in Norco, CA area highly preferred.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity
and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and not
impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
Must take and pass a pre-employment drug, DMV and background
check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting,
climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements
limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest
distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for
simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right
and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work
above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for
same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the
field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction
job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near
hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on
uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise,
extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at
heights.
