Luxfer offers extensive training programs for Maintenance Mechanics and has a career progression structure that rewards Maintenance Mechanics as they gain additional knowledge and skill.Position Purpose:Under guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor team of Maintenance Technicians, Mechanics, and Parts Clerk in the achievement of maximum machine uptime in a safe and environmentally conscious environment. Responsible with minimum supervision, this individual shall drive 100% equipment up time through implementing and maintaining effective Preventative Maintenance procedures, and continually challenging ways to improve overall equipment performance through innovation and engineered improvements in our equipment capabilities and most efficient equipment PM activities. Ensure uptime of critical operational equipment, provide asset protection, and coordinate with outside contractors regarding building services to ensure a clean and safe environment. Main Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs various mechanical, robotic, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and systems involving the isolation of the malfunction parts, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of faulty components.
    • Assists other maintenance personnel with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
      • Follows all safety policies and procedures strictly
        • Uses equipment manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to aid in troubleshooting and repairing of tools and equipment
          • Undertakes the sourcing and ordering of required parts, supplies, and services
            • Support engineering projects including but not limited to: equipment installation, commissioning, and validation process. Ability to assist within the Engineering Group in equipment failure root cause analysis with prompt resolution.
              • Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment to like-new status during
                • Activ participation in the development and growth of pertinent Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) Tools.
                  • Sr. Maintenance Technician-PLC acts as a subject matter expert on behalf of the plant in frequency drives, human machine interface (HMI), plant operating systems
                  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal RegulationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
                    • 3-5 years direct experience troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial mechanical equipment.
                    • 3-5 years strong familiarity servicing equipment, conveyer machines, PLC systems, robotics, or any other industrial types of electromechanical production equipment.
                    • 3-5 Years of Programming PLCs & HMIs, Servo motors and robotics
                    • Sr. Maintenance Technician-PLC acts as a subject matter expert with strong working knowledge of all operating systems in the plant including but not limited to Allen Bradley (AB), B&R automation, Siemens, and Zenon.
                    • Experience using a multi-meter or any other type of electronic testing equipment.
                    • Ability to read and interpret schematics, charts, service manuals and parts diagram preferred.
                    • Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to the operation of automated equipment preferred.
                    • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, read schematics, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures.
                    • Knowledge of low and main voltage components, motors, switch gear and drivesEducation Requirements:Education: Associate's degree (electrical, mechanical, or technology related degree), or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, skilled trades certificate; or High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and trainingPhysical Demands:The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodations.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
