Job Description:

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Technician to perform basic engineering assignments following established policies. - You will perform technical tasks under close supervision which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects, manufacturing process stabilization and part fabrication. You will work along-side with other Manufacturing Engineers and shop floor personnel on a variety of tasks related to composite component manufacture. This is a production-oriented position operating in a manufacturing shop environment. -Primary Responsibilities

  • Works under direct supervision to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks.
  • Performs technical tasks which aide in execution of manufacturing process documents (routings, BOM, Visual aids, Std work).
  • Prepares charts, graphs, or diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, machine utilization and first pass yield.
  • Assists more senior manufacturing technical staff in cross discipline collaboration initiatives involving design, quality, equipment, testing, Material Review Board (MRB) and Materials & Process engineers.
  • Assists operators in the fabrication of composite structures including composite layup, laser projection systems, ply cutting and kitting, CNC machining, robotic automation and other typical composite bond processes.
  • Participate in process improvement and continuous improvement activities. - Implements results of Lean initiatives. - Performs time observations.
  • Participates and contributes on PFMEA and control build plans. Basic Qualifications
    • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience OR
    • In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required OR
    • A Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 2 years of relevant experience
    • Ability to read material and process specifications, engineering drawings, technical reports, manuals, layups, and work instructions.
    • Read, write, speak and understand work instructions both verbal and written in English and perform basic math calculations
    • Ability to understand direction and adhere to established procedures
    • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder Preferred Qualifications
      • The ideal candidate will be pursuing an ABET certified degree in Engineering. -
