+ Property upkeep.
+ Maintain and Repair equipment, when capable, advise when service
+ Keep vehicles filled with gas and maintained, (fluids, keep
+ Maintain buildings in warehouse in organized and functional
condition. Work with appropriate persons, including officers, to
keep maintenance closet, warehouse, and other storage areas clean,
safe, and orderly.
+ Establish and follow a periodic check system for service of
equipment, such as emergency lights and water heater, run generator
at least once a month to keep it in good condition.
+ Perform routine maintenance and light repairs, such as changing
ballasts and unclogging drains.
+ Maintain tools and maintenance/gardening equipment in clean,
+ Maintain and repair minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems;
perform carpentry, including floor, wall, and ceiling finishes;
perform concrete work. Advise Officers when professional help is
+ Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; advise supervisor
when purchases are necessary.

+ Must successfully complete decision driving safety test before
driving the Salvation Army vehicles and annually certify as
+ Work closely and cooperatively with other staff members when
needs relative to maintenance arise in their respective areas.
+ Work with landscape company and custodial workers to keep
sidewalks, entryways, and all landscaped areas clean and free from
+ Identify and report necessary maintenance projects to the
appropriate person to aide property upkeep.
+ Fill in as needed for closing and opening of building for
community classes and events.
+ Open and close outer and internal perimeter gates as needed.
+ Use protective equipment such as gloves, face mask, ear and eye
protection when needed, for example when using cleaning supplies,
and spraying chemicals.
+ Move trash receptacle out for trash pickup as directed return
containers to storage area after pick-up.
+ Assist with miscellaneous chores, such as packing food boxes and
assembling sack lunches. Feeling for dropping off lunches to
emergency family shelter.
+ Help seasonally with all Christmas work assigned, including but
not limited to distribution day.
+ Perform all other duties as assigned.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an
intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to
lift up to 50lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as
files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate
computer, fax and telephone.
