Your Mission: We are looking for an entrepreneurial and seasoned quality leader to join our team as the first dedicated head of quality to oversee strategy, direction, and execution of all aspects of quality and food safety at Banza. You will design and manage quality processes and systems, lead investigations, and drive product quality improvement opportunities cross-functionally throughout the supply chain. While initially a team of one, you will collaborate across all functions in the execution of quality and food safety programs. Prior successful experience building and nurturing a quality function in a high growth food or CPG company will make you the ideal person for this role.
What You'll Do:


  • Establish and promote a culture of quality throughout Banza.
  • Provide quality leadership and guidance to Banza internal manufacturing site. Drive quality improvements and ensure processes are robust, documented, and compliant.
  • Establish best in class quality and food safety programs through cross-functional collaboration with operations, supply chain, product, and other functions.
  • Lead quality investigations across the global supply chain and work with appropriate teams to implement robust CAPAs.
  • Work with Product and Operations teams in the selection and management of contract manufacturers, raw material suppliers, and distribution partners. This includes conducting initial and routine audits, completing quality investigations, implementing CAPAs, and driving overall product quality improvements.
  • Lead customer complaints process including documentation and investigation completion with appropriate internal and external partners.
  • Support new product commercialization to ensure quality and regulatory requirements are integrated into the new product development (NPD) process.
  • Participate in and lead COGS improvement initiatives. -
  • Build and maintain close partnerships with manufacturing partners.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and certifications across internal and external supply chains.
  • Establish KPIs to monitor progress and drive improvement.

    Requirements:

    • BA/BS with 10+ years professional experience in food and/or CPG quality and food safety leadership
    • Prior experience working in a manufacturing plant
    • Prior people leadership experience and ability to coach and provide feedback to cross functional stakeholders, and build a team
    • Experience working directly with external manufacturing partners and raw material suppliers
    • An effective communicator with experience working interdepartmentally & with external partners
    • A diligent, organized, thoughtful, and highly accountable person
    • Organized, with track record of designing processes and managing information
    • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time

      Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
      Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry. In addition to base salary, full time employees receive equity, medical, dental, and vision insurance through United Healthcare, free Banza products, and monthly stipends for fitness, internet, and cell phones.

      Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. - We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. The range for this role is $140,000-$200,000 because we are open to a wide variety of profiles, so it is possible to explore salary above or below this target, provided we can maintain pay equity within the team. Any updated salary range based on your specific experience will be communicated to you as a candidate. -
